We are open to the public Every Friday!
Established in January 1960, the British American Club was founded by a group of British expatriates who had relocated with their families to contribute their skills to the American automotive industry. Originally known as Britons in America, the group quickly became a vibrant social network for British nationals in Northeast Ohio.
In May 1962, the organization was formally incorporated as a social club and began hosting regular meetings at the Chrysler Union Hall in Twinsburg, Ohio. For the next decade, the club held social gatherings and events at the Union Hall and various other local venues, fostering a strong sense of community among its members.
In 1973, the club acquired property at 8564 Ravenna Road, Twinsburg, Ohio. Dedicated volunteers from the membership undertook extensive renovations and refurbishments of the building. The newly renovated clubhouse was officially opened with a grand dance on July 27, 1974, attended by distinguished guests including the British Consul and Vice-Consul.
In November 1978, the organization adopted its current name, the British American Club. Today, it continues to serve as a welcoming space for social fellowship, celebrating British and American heritage and culture throughout Northeast Ohio.
Membership is not required to attend our Fish Fry events or other public gatherings. Everyone is welcome to visit and enjoy our hospitality. Our volunteers, who also manage setup and cleanup, ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all.
