FOUNDED IN JANUARY 1960 BY A GROUP OF BRITISH WORKERS WHO HAD BROUGHT THEIR TALENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES TO THE AMERICAN AUTO INDUSTRY.
FIRST KNOWN AS “BRITONS IN AMERICA”.
MAY 1962 - THE GROUP WAS INCORPORATED AS A SOCIAL CLUB AND BEGAN MEETING AT THE CHRYSLER UNION HALL IN TWINSBURG, OHIO.
FOR TEN YEARS THE CLUB CONTINUED TO MEET AND HOLD SOCIAL EVENTS AT THE CHRYSLER UNION HALL, AS WELL AS OTHER LOCAL VENUES.
IN 1973 THE PROPERTY AT '8564 RAVENNA ROAD IN TWINSBURG, OHIO' WAS PURCHASED.
VOLUNTEERS FROM THE MEMBERSHIP SPENT MANY MONTHS RENOVATING AND REFURBISHING THE BUILDING. A GRAND OPENING DANCE WAS HELD ON JULY 27, 1974, ATTENDED BY THE BRITISH CONSUL AND THE VICE-CONSUL.
NOVEMBER 1978 THE NAME OF THE CLUB WAS CHANGED TO BRITISH-AMERICAN CLUB, AND CONTINUES TO THIS DAY TO PROVIDE SOCIAL FELLOWSHIP TO BRITONS AND AMERICANS IN NORTHEAST OHIO.
